BEng (Hons) Scheme in Product and Industrial Engineering (Product Engineering with Marketing / Industrial and Systems Engineering) 產品及工業工程(榮譽)工學士組合課程 (產品工程兼市場學 / 工業及系統工程學)

PROD & INDUSTRIAL ENGG

Short Description

Product and industrial engineering (PIE) has been driving industries and service sectors to perform smarter, faster, and better. The PIE scheme aims to provide students with knowledge and skills in product and industrial engineering, including engineering economics, quality engineering, engineering science and mathematics, engineering communication and information technology, so as to enable them to have a solid foundation and flexibility to pursue a bachelor's degree, either in product engineering with marketing or industrial and systems engineering, after the first and a half year of study.

Remarks:

  • Students admitted to the scheme study the common curriculum for the first 1.5 years. They must select any one of the two honours degree awards no later than the end of the first semester of Year 2.
  • All information is subject to change without prior notice.
  • Students will be awarded one of the following awards upon successful completion of the graduation requirements of the programme concerned:
    • BEng (Hons) in Product Engineering with Marketing
    • BEng (Hons) in Industrial and Systems Engineering
  • Students are allowed to enrol on any awards without being subject to further assessment.
  • The option of Secondary Major in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE) is available to the students of BEng (Hons) in Product Engineering (a variant of BEng (Hons) in Product Engineering with Marketing). Admission to Secondary Major is on competitive basis and subject to a different credit requirement for graduation.

For HKDSE repeaters who took “Liberal Studies” in 2023/24 or before and have not taken "Citizenship and Social Development" in 2024/25 and thereafter, "Level 2" or above in "Liberal Studies" would be regarded as "Attained" in "Citizenship and Social Development" for fulfilling the general entrance requirement. However, "Liberal Studies" would not be recognized for meeting the elective requirement of the general entrance requirement in 2024/25 and thereafter. The level attainment of the subject would not be included in the admission score calculation.

Flexibilities on admission selection are available as follows:
  1. Individual schemes / programmes will accept one relevant Applied Learning (ApL) subject for meeting the entrance requirements. An attainment at Attained with Distinction (I) level or above / Attained with Distinction (obtained in 2017 or before) is required.
  2. Other Language subjects (i.e. Category C) offered in the HKDSE Examination will be accepted as elective subjects. Grade E or above is required.
