Music Qualifications

1 What are certified true copies?

Certified true copies are NOT the original or the copies of the certificates / supporting documents. Certified true copies are copies of certificates / supporting documents which have been certified by school principals, or by the issuing authorities concerned, or by a notary public.  The name, status and position of the person certifying the copies must be clearly stated.

2 How can the applicants confirm if the certified true copies of the certificates of their music qualifications have been received by the JUPAS Office?

Applicants who have submitted certified true copies of their certificates to the JUPAS Office by post can log on their JUPAS accounts to check the updated verification status 2 working days after the relevant documents are received by the JUPAS Office.

School applicants who have produced their certificates to their schools for verification via the JUPAS online application system need not submit supporting documents to the JUPAS Office again.  They can log on their JUPAS accounts to check the updated verification status once the qualifications have been verified by their schools.

3 Will the music qualifications without verification be deleted after the deadline of 4 May 2022?  How will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions consider these music qualifications?

NO.  The music qualifications without verification will not be deleted after the deadline of 4 May 2022.

However, qualifications not verified by schools (for school applicants) or the JUPAS Office on or before the deadline of 4 May 2022 will NOT be taken into consideration by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.

4 Do applicants need to submit certified true copies of the certificates of the music qualifications to the JUPAS Office by post if they have been verified by their schools?

NO.  School applicants who have produced their certificates to their schools for verification via the JUPAS online application system need not submit supporting documents to the JUPAS Office again.  They can log on their JUPAS accounts to check the verification status.

However, qualifications not verified by schools (for school applicants) or the JUPAS Office on or before the deadline of 4 May 2022 will NOT be taken into consideration by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.

5 Can applicants enter qualifications other than those listed in the List of Music Qualifications?

NO.  Applicants can only enter music qualifications listed in the List of Music Qualifications.

In the consideration of music qualifications, the following will NOT be accepted:

  1. "equivalent" qualifications;

  2. qualifications not on the List of Music Qualifications;

  3. online results / reports; and 

  4. provisional results.

6 If applicants have undergone name changes but the names contained in the certificates are the old ones, what should they do?

Applicants must inform the JUPAS Office immediately and submit copies of Deed Poll and / or identity documents containing the previous names for its necessary actions.
