BBA

Short Description

The BBA programme combines strong functional training with intensive training in communication skills, computer applications and other social science and/or science subjects. Students can choose to pursue in one of the following five majors:

  1. Entrepreneurship, design and innovation*,
  2. Finance,
  3. Human resource management,
  4. Information systems and analytics, or
  5. Marketing.
(*Note: Candidates must undergo a selection process arranged by the Programme Coordinator for declaring the EDI major.)

Students can also declare a second major or minor(s) if they are able to meet the programme requirements.

Dual Degree Programmes

Students may choose to pursue one of the following two 4-year BBA dual degree programmes offered by HKU Business School in collaboration with leading international universities:

  • Jointly offered with the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). Students will spend the first two years at Sciences Po and the third and fourth years at HKU.  Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded a BBA degree from HKU, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Sciences Po.
  • Jointly offered with the University of British Columbia (UBC). Students will spend the first and final years at HKU and the second and third years at UBC.  Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded a BBA degree from HKU, and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from UBC.

Separate application is required for applying to the dual degree programmes.

  1. Level 2 in Liberal Studies achieved in previous sitting(s) will be considered in lieu of Citizenship and Social Development.
  2. Other Language subjects will be used as unspecified elective subjects. The minimum requirement is Grade E.
The calculation of programme score considers category A subjects and M1/M2 only. Please refer to hku.hk/dse for details.

The result(s) of Liberal Studies, Combined Science and Integrated Science achieved in previous sitting(s) will also be considered.

Remark:

  1. "Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education” is referred to as “HKDSE”.
  2. "Attained with Distinction" obtained prior to 2018, or "Attained with Distinction (I)" or "Attained with Distinction (II)" obtained in or after 2018, in Applied Learning subjects (other than Applied Learning Chinese) will be used as additional supporting information. In the meantime, student learning experiences in Applied Learning subjects may be considered within the context of other learning experiences in their application.
  3. Level 2 in Liberal Studies achieved in previous sitting will be considered in lieu of Citizenship and Social Development.
  4. Other Language subjects will be used as unspecified elective subjects. The minimum requirement is Grade E.
The result(s) of Combined Science and Integrated Science achieved in previous sitting(s) will also be considered.

Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination

In general, most of the programmes offered by HKU consider the best results achieved by candidates in different combination of sittings, except for a few programmes which only consider the latest results.  Few programmes may also impose a penalty on HKDSE repeaters.  Please refer to https://www.hku.hk/dse for details.
