Short Description

The programme aims to develop students into a new generation of catering management professionals to serve the manpower demands of the hospitality/catering industry locally and regionally.  It not only offers training on culinary arts and catering management skills, but also encourages innovative thinking by incorporating culinary-related design and food science elements into the curriculum.  Students may concentrate their study in three areas, namely, Culinary Management, Chinese Culinary Arts and Western Culinary Arts according to their interest in order to develop their professional competence.

Applicants with previous HKDSE subject result of A040 ‘Liberal Studies’ will be used as the alternative of the core subject requirement of A045 ‘Citizenship and Social Development’.

Admission Score Calculation on Citizenship and Social Development

“Attained” in Citizenship and Social Development will be counted as “Level 2” in the admission score calculation.

Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination

The best result from a combination of all HKDSE subjects will be considered and there is no penalty or marks deducted for repeated sittings.

Alternative Qualification(s) in Chinese Language (for NCS applicants only)

If applicants do not have the required HKDSE Chinese Language qualifications, under specific circumstances1, the following language results will be considered individually in the application :

  1. The specific circumstances are :
  • The applicant has learnt Chinese Language for less than 6 years (including those who have never learned it) while receiving primary and secondary school education ; OR
  • The applicant has learnt Chinese Language for 6 years or more in schools, but has been taught an adapted and simpler curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in local schools.

First Year Tuition Fee

HK$ 97,050

Tuition fees are charged according to the number of credit points taken in a semester. Tuition fees for 2024/25 cohort are as below for reference:

Net tuition fee after deduction of the maximum subsidy amount:

Notes:

  1. The tuition fees shown above are at the fee level of 2024/25. The fees for the subsequent years after 2024/25 shall be subject to annual adjustments capped at the movement of the Composite Consumer Price Index (CCPI) announced by the Government.
  2. The annual tuition fees, shown in the above, are calculated based on the average credit points per year multiplied by the per-credit fee and are shown for reference only.  The minimum credit requirement for graduation is 132 credit points.  The actual annual tuition fees payable by individual students may vary from the amounts shown.
  3. The unit subsidy for this programme is $45,810 per annum in 2024/25 cohort. The subsidy is tenable for the normal duration of the programme, i.e. for a period of 4 years.
  4. Only local students are eligible to be subsidised under SSSDP.
