Short Description
This programme aims to educate and train professional building services engineers and managers. The syllabus therefore covers all modules related to electrical and mechanical services in building including air-conditioning, ventilating, fire services, water supply and drainage, electrical supply and lighting systems. The programme focuses both on knowledge and application, with emphasis on practicality and vocational orientation.
Remarks:
The programme has been included in the second round of “Pilot Project on the Development of Applied Degree Programmes” of the Education Bureau. The programme will undergo re-accreditation by the HKCAAVQ and the programme title is subject to change. Please refer to the website of the respective programme.

Applicants with previous HKDSE subject result of A040 ‘Liberal Studies’ will be used as the alternative of the core subject requirement of A045 ‘Citizenship and Social Development’.
Admission Score Calculation on Citizenship and Social Development
“Attained” in Citizenship and Social Development will be counted as “Level 2” in the admission score calculation.
Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination
The best result from a combination of all HKDSE subjects will be considered and there is no penalty or marks deducted for repeated sittings.
Alternative Qualification(s) in Chinese Language (for NCS applicants only)
If applicants do not have the required HKDSE Chinese Language qualifications, under specific circumstances1, the following language results will be considered individually in the application :

- The specific circumstances are :
- The applicant has learnt Chinese Language for less than six years while receiving primary and secondary education. This caters specifically to applicants who have a late start in the learning of Chinese Language (e.g. due to their settlement in Hong Kong well past the entry level) or who have been educated in Hong Kong sporadically; OR
- The applicant has learnt Chinese Language for six years or more in schools, but has been taught an adapted and simpler Chinese Language curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in the local schools.

Tuition fees are charged according to the number of credit points taken in a semester. Tuition fees for 2024/25 cohort are as below for reference:

Notes:
- The tuition fees shown above are at the fee level of 2024/25. The fees for the subsequent years after 2024/25 shall be subject to annual adjustments capped at the movement of the Composite Consumer Price Index (CCPI) announced by the Government.
- The annual tuition fees, shown in the above, are calculated based on the average credit points per year multiplied by the per-credit fee and are shown for reference only. The minimum credit requirement for graduation is 132 credit points. The actual annual tuition fees payable by individual students may vary from the amounts shown.
- The unit subsidy for this programme is $79,770 per annum in 2024/25 cohort. The subsidy is tenable for the normal duration of the programme, i.e. for a period of 4 years.
- Only local students are eligible to be subsidised under SSSDP.
