BA (Hons) Translation

Short Description

The Translation Programme offers a bilingual and bicultural education which equips graduates with the capacity to think for themselves, as well as bilingual competence in Chinese and English.  Equal emphasis is placed on translation as a profession and an academic discipline, as reflected in a variety of practical courses on translation, interpreting and language studies, along with academic courses on translation theory, criticism and history.  Considerable importance is attached to the socio-cultural environment of the Chinese and English languages respectively, which is explored in its many facets in a number of literary and cultural studies courses.
