About EdUHK
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) has a history dating back to 1853 when the first formalised programme of in-service teacher training was introduced in St Paul’s College. It was formally established as The Hong Kong Institute of Education in 1994 and was granted the current university title in 2016.

In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022, EdUHK ranked 3rd in Asia and 17th in the World in Education. Also, 29 scholars from 12 different disciplines at EdUHK were named among the top 2% in the Stanford list of the world’s most-cited scientists in 2020. Our professors are not just world class researchers, but also great teachers who will inspire and guide you along your university journey.

Our Programmes
Throughout the years, EdUHK has expanded beyond the traditional strength of teacher education to offer a suite of multidisciplinary programmes in creative arts and culture, humanities and language studies, social sciences, science, technology, and sports, including four new undergraduate programmes:

  • Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Heritage Education and Arts Management
  • Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Artificial Intelligence and Educational Technology;
  • Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Science and Coaching; and
  • Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Integrated Environmental Management.

You will enjoy the flexibility to tailor your studies based on your passions and broaden your exposure for more future options through a variety of learning experiences, such as a second major / minor / electives in different disciplines, internships, overseas learning opportunities, hall life education, etc.

The Future of Learning
EdUHK has been at the frontiers of global education. Next-gen technologies such as AI, VR/AR, 3D-printing, blended learning, and mobile computing, are all part of your learning experience.

We also work closely with Microsoft Hong Kong to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) elements into the curriculum of our bachelor’s programmes offered by the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology.

For aspiring entrepreneurs, we offer seed grants and various means of support with our Entrepreneurship Fund for EdTech and Social Innovation to help you start up your ventures.

Global Experience
EdUHK provides student exchange to expand your horizons and develop your intercultural communication skills. We have developed academic and student exchange collaborations with more than 200 tertiary institutions in over 30 countries and regions. Those who study language education programmes will participate in either English or Putonghua immersion programme to enhance the language proficiency in a native context.

Over 60% of our undergraduate students have at least one type of non-local learning experience—one of the highest among universities in Hong Kong. Full-time undergraduate students can also apply for the Global Learning Enhancement Fund capped at HK$10,000 for financial support.
