About SSSDP
Subsidy
SSSDP will continue to be administered by a two-tier arrangement in which a subsidy of up to HK$79,770 per academic year will be provided to each applicant admitted to a laboratory-based undergraduate programme while a subsidy of up to HK$45,810 per academic year will be provided to each applicant admitted to an undergraduate programme that is not laboratory-based in the 2024 – 2025 academic year.
The HKSAR Government announced on 10 September 2024 that the subsidy amounts of SSSDP in the 2025 – 2026 academic year will be adjusted upward according to the movement of the Composite Consumer Price Index. The annual subsidy amounts for laboratory-based undergraduate programmes and non-laboratory-based undergraduate programmes will be increased to HK$81,450 and HK$46,780 respectively. For applied degree programmes, with the additional subsidies, the total annual subsidy amounts will be increased to HK$89,620 (laboratory-based) and HK$51,880 (non-laboratory-based).
