Subsidy

SSSDP will continue to be administered by a two-tier arrangement.  A subsidy of up to HK$81,450 per academic year will be provided to each applicant admitted to a laboratory-based undergraduate programme; while a subsidy of up to HK$46,780 per academic year will be provided to each applicant admitted to an undergraduate programme that is not laboratory-based in the 2025 – 2026 academic year.  For applied degree programmes, with the additional subsidies, the total annual subsidy amounts will be up to HK$89,620 (laboratory-based) and HK$51,880 (non-laboratory-based).

The HKSAR Government announced on 9 September 2025 that the subsidy amounts of SSSDP in the 2026 – 2027 academic year will remain unchanged from those in the 2025 – 2026 academic year.
