Applicants may voluntarily submit information regarding their disabilities and supporting documents via their JUPAS accounts for consideration by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions (the Institutions).

This information enables the Institutions to:

• Consider applicants' individual circumstances during the admissions process; and

• Advise applicants on the support and facilities that may be available if they are admitted.

Submissions of disability information are optional and will not reduce an applicant's chance of admissions.  The Institutions determine how the information is considered, independently of the JUPAS Office.

Whether or not applicants submit disability information, they are encouraged to contact relevant institutions to discuss:

• Their individual circumstances;

• The essential requirements of the programme concerned; and

• The facilities and support available.

This will help applicants make informed programmes choices and understand any support that may be available during their studies.

• Applicants who wish their disability information to be considered should submit the information and upload the required supporting documents via their JUPAS accounts by 2 December 2026 (5:00 pm).

• Applicants who are unable to complete the submission by 2 December 2026 (5:00 pm) should contact the JUPAS Office as soon as possible and no later than 26 May 2027.

• No further submission / amendment after 26 May 2027 (5:00 pm) is accepted.

• Applicant should refer to Applicants' User Guide Section 4.7 for step-by-step instructions.

For the purpose of this arrangement, disability includes:

1. Attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder;

2. Autism;

3. Hearing impairment;

4. Intellectual disability;

5. Mental illness;

6. Physical disability;

7. Specific learning difficulties;

8. Speech impairment;

9. Visceral disability / chronic illness; or

10. Visual impairment.

Based on the information submitted, the JUPAS Office, having consulted with the Commissioner for Rehabilitation of the Labour and Welfare Bureau, will determine whether an applicant is eligible for special considerations under this arrangement.

During the verification process, the Commissioner may:

• Request additional supporting documents via the JUPAS Office; and / or

• Contact the relevant government bureaux / departments and / or organisations to verify the information submitted.

By submitting the disability information to the JUPAS Office, applicants are required to confirm the Disability Declaration. Applicants will also be deemed to have consented to the Commissioner for Rehabilitation disclosing relevant information about their disabilities to the JUPAS Office for verification purposes.

Applicants who are not found eligible for special considerations under this arrangement will be notified by the JUPAS Office.  Their applications will continue to be considered under the standard JUPAS admissions arrangements.

After completing all applicable procedures, applicants should log in to their JUPAS accounts to check that:

• The relevant information has been successfully submitted and saved;

• The relevant information recorded is correct; and

• The supporting documents have been successfully uploaded.

Applicants will be notified by the JUPAS Office after the verification results are available.  They should then log in to their JUPAS accounts to check the information recorded and their eligibility status.

In the event of any disputes or queries, the JUPAS Office will refer to the records maintained in the JUPAS Online Application System.

The Institutions may require applicants to present the original supporting documents for verification.  Applicants should ensure that all information entered and supporting documents submitted are accurate and verifiable.  The submission of false or unverifiable information may result in disqualification of the JUPAS application, withdrawal of an offer, cancellation of registration or enrolment, or termination of studies by the Institutions.
