Eligibility

1 Can applicants who applied via JUPAS in previous Admissions Exercise(s) apply via JUPAS again?

YES. Applicants who applied via JUPAS in previous Admissions Exercise(s) may submit a new JUPAS application, provided that they meet all applicable JUPAS eligibility requirements at the time of application.

A new JUPAS account and application are required for each Admissions Exercise.

2 Are Category I (CATI) school and non-school applicants considered on the same basis?

YES. All eligible Category I (CATI) applicants applying via JUPAS on the strength of their HKDSE Examination results are considered on the same basis by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions, regardless of whether they are school or non-school applicants.

3 Which application route should applicants with both HKDSE Examination and other academic results use?

Category I (CATI) applicants with both HKDSE Examination AND other academic results, whose HKDSE Examination results ALONE would make them eligible for application to the programmes under JUPAS can apply either via JUPAS or non-JUPAS, but NOT both. Assessment of these applicants applying via JUPAS will be based mainly on the strength of their HKDSE Examination results, while other aspects will be considered as appropriate.

Eligible applicants who need to COMBINE their HKDSE Examination results with other academic results to meet the subject requirements for admission to the programmes under JUPAS are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply via JUPAS. They should consult individual institutions concerned for further information.

Category I (CATI) applicants whose HKDSE Examination results ALONE meet the applicable requirements for programmes available under JUPAS may choose to apply via either:

JUPAS, mainly on the strength of their HKDSE Examination results; or
the relevant non-JUPAS route, on the basis determined by the institutions concerned.

They must NOT apply via both routes for any programme available under JUPAS in the same academic year.

Applicants who need to COMBINE their HKDSE Examination results with other academic results to meet the subject requirements of a programme are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply via JUPAS. They should contact the individual institutions directly regarding the applicable admissions arrangements.

4 Can applicants currently enrolled in associate degree / higher diploma programmes apply via JUPAS? Must they withdraw before applying?

YES. Eligible Category I (CATI) applicants currently enrolled in associate degree / higher diploma programmes may apply via JUPAS. They NEED NOT withdraw from their current programmes before submitting their JUPAS applications.

Applicants applying via JUPAS will be assessed mainly on the strength of their HKDSE Examination results, while other relevant information may also be considered where appropriate.

Applicants wishing to apply on the strength of their associate degree / higher diploma results should apply directly to the individual institutions.

Applicants must NOT apply concurrently via both JUPAS and non-JUPAS routes for ANY programme available under JUPAS in the same academic year, regardless of whether the programme is included in their "My CONFIRMED Programme Choices".

Applicants who wish to proceed with their JUPAS applications must cancel the corresponding non-JUPAS applications before applying via JUPAS.

5 When should applicants withdraw from their associate degree / higher diploma programmes if they receive Main Round offers?

Withdrawal arrangements are determined by the institutions in which the applicants are currently enrolled. Applicants should contact the relevant institutions directly for information about the applicable requirements, procedures and deadlines.

6 Can applicants who are currently studying outside Hong Kong apply via JUPAS?

Yes. Applicants who are currently studying outside Hong Kong may apply via JUPAS provided that they have met all applicable JUPAS eligibility requirements at the time they submit their JUPAS applications.
