HKDSE Examination Results

1 Are applicants with HKDSE Examination results obtained in more than one sitting subject to any penalty in the calculation of admission scores?

This depends on the admissions criteria of the programme concerned. The 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions may consider HKDSE Examination results obtained in different sittings, and some programmes may apply different scoring arrangements to results obtained in more than one sitting.

Applicants should carefully review the general entrance requirements and individual programme requirements, and relevant information published on the institutions' websites.

2 Can applicants choose to submit only their HKDSE Examination results obtained in a specific year?

NO. Applicants cannot choose which years of HKDSE Examination results will be made available for consideration.

The JUPAS Office, the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions will obtain applicants' past and current HKDSE Examination results directly from the HKEAA, provided that applicants have used the same HKID card number to register for both their JUPAS accounts and their relvevant HKDSE Examination.

The 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions will determine how results obtained in different sittings are considered under their respective admissions requirements.

3 How will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions consider the ApL subjects results (e.g. Attained)?

Each institutions will determine how ApL subject results are considered under its own admissions requirements.

The JUPAS Office does not determine how these results are assessed for admission. Applicants should refer to the general entrance requirements and individual programme requirements, and relevant information published on the institutions' websites.

4 Will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions know the language version in which applicants took each HKDSE Examination subject? Will different language versions be considered differently?

NO. The 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions will not know the language version in which an applicant took an HKDSE Examination subject.

ALL language versions of the same HKDSE Examination subject will be considered on the same basis.

5 Will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions know if applicants were absent from any HKDSE Examination subjects? How will such subjects be considered?

YES. The HKDSE Examination information obtained from the HKEAA will include subjects from which applicants were absent, provided that applicants have used the same HKID card number to register for both their JUPAS accounts and the relevant HKDSE Examinations.

The information will be made available to the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions for their consideration. Each institutions will determine how an absence from an examination subject is considered under its own admissions requirements.

6 What are the School-based Assessment (SBA) arrangements for private candidates taking the HKDSE Examination?
