Updating of Programme Choices (before Release of HKDSE Examination Results)

Updating of Programme Choices: My DRAFT Programme Choices

Applicants may update their programme choices before the release of the HKDSE Examination results during the period 9 December 2022 (9:00 am) – 31 May 2023 (11:59 pm) in any of the following options:

  • REPLACE a programme choice with another one / ADD new programmes to the original programme choice lists (as long as the total number of programme choices does not exceed 20)

  • CHANGE the preference order of the programme choices

  • DELETE programmes from the programme choice lists

Before updating the programme choices, applicants are required to pay amendment fees of HK$100 for each submission via one of the channels listed in the section Channels and Procedures for Payment of Amendment Fee.

Applicants should note that any programme choices contained in "My DRAFT Programme Choices" are their working drafts only and would NEITHER be:

  1. considered by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions; nor

  2. automatically submitted to "My CONFIRMED Programme Choices" under any circumstances.

Applicants are therefore strongly reminded that they MUST submit their programme choices contained in "My DRAFT Programme Choices" to "My CONFIRMED Programme Choices" in order to be considered by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and / or the SSSDP institutions.

Channels and Procedures for Payment of Amendment Fee

Before updating the programme choices, applicants are required to pay amendment fees of HK$100 for each submission via one of the following channels.

After successful payment of amendment fees, applicants can proceed to update and submit their programme choices for consideration by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and / or the SSSDP institutions.

CREDIT CARD

MasterCard

Applicants MUST log on their JUPAS accounts to pay the amendment fees via VISA / MasterCard (issued by any bank), after which they can update their programme choices.  Applicants need not be the credit card holders.

Applicants should check the details on the confirmation pages shown after successful payments and print copies for their own record.

Note:

  • JUPAS Office has no access to the bank account information for making the payment.
PPS by Internet
PPS Online

Applicants MUST log on their JUPAS accounts to pay the amendment fees via PPS by Internet, after which they can update their programme choices.  Applicants need not be the PPS account holders.

Applicants should check the details on the confirmation pages shown after successful payments and print copies for their own record.

Note:

  • PPS by Phone will NOT be accepted.

  • JUPAS Office has no access to the bank account information for making the payment.

FPS
FPS

Applicants MUST log on their JUPAS accounts to pay the amendment fees via FPS QR Code, after which they can update their programme choices.  Applicants need not be the FPS registrants.

Applicants should check the details on the confirmation pages shown after successful payments and print copies for their own record.

Note:

  • JUPAS Office has access to the FPS registrant’s full name and bank name after a successful payment.
E-BANKING (for personal account only)

Applicants can pay the amendment fees via e-banking of HSBC, Hang Seng Bank and The Bank of East Asia (BEA).  Applicants need not be the bank account holders.  The deadline for paying amendment fee via e-banking is 30 May 2023 (7:30 pm).

It will take at least 1 working day for the payments via e-banking to be processed, after which applicants can log on their JUPAS accounts to update their programme choices.  Please make the payments earlier in order that they can update their programme choices in time.

Applicants should check the details on the confirmation pages shown after successful payments and print copies for their own record.

Note:

  • The APPLICANTS' HKID CARD NUMBERS must be used to register payments as the Bill Payment No. (e.g. applicant with an HKID card number of A123456(A) should input A123456A as the Bill Payment No.), otherwise the JUPAS Office will not be able to identify the applicants' fee payments.

  • JUPAS Office has no access to the bank account information for making the payment.

CASH (BEA)

Applicants can pay the amendment fees in CASH at any branch of BEA to the following account.

It will take at least 1 working day for the payments via the bank to be processed, after which applicants can log on their JUPAS accounts to update their programme choices.  Please make the payments earlier in order that they can update their programme choices in time.

Note:

  • The APPLICANTS' HKID CARD NUMBERS must be produced and used in making the payments, otherwise the JUPAS Office will not be able to identify the applicants' fee payments.

  • Payment by cheque or ATM transfer will NOT be accepted.

  • Account Deposit Forms will be issued by BEA for applicants' retention.  Applicants should check the information printed on the Account Deposit Forms carefully before leaving the bank counters.  If inaccurate information is found, applicants should inform the bank staff immediately, otherwise the JUPAS Office will not be able to process applicants' fee payments and they will be required to make new payments.

  • Please refer to the respective branches of BEA for business hours.

Please note the following:

  • The amendment fee is collected by the JUPAS Office on behalf of the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions, and is not refundable or transferable to another year / other application.

Notification of Successful Payment of Amendment Fee

Applicants will be notified of the successful payments of the amendment fee via the following means and schedule:

  1. Email#^;

  2. Message box in the JUPAS account;

  3. SMS^; and

  4. Updated "Payment History" in the JUPAS account

It is applicants' responsibilities to check for such messages.  Applicants should enquire at the JUPAS Office immediately if they do not receive such messages according to the above schedule after completing the relevant procedures.

Confirmation of Successful Updating of Programme Choices: My CONFIRMED Programme Choices

After successful updating of programme choices, there will be a confirmation page showing the programme choices selected and saved in applicants' JUPAS accounts.  Applicants should print the confirmation pages as record of the programme choices they have selected and submitted.

Applicants will also receive emails#^ (containing their CONFIRMED programme choices) and SMS^ from the JUPAS Office upon successful updating of programme choices.

It is applicants' responsibilities to check for such messages.  Applicants should enquire at the JUPAS Office immediately if they do not receive such messages after completing the relevant procedures.

Applicants should retain copies of the confirmation page and confirmation emails as proof that their programme choices have successfully been updated.  In the event of any disputes or queries, the JUPAS Office will ONLY accept these printed pages as official evidence.  No other documentation in hard copy or electronic form will be accepted.

Applicants are also advised to log on their JUPAS accounts again to check and confirm that their programme choices have successfully been updated and saved.

Deadline for Updating of Programme Choices

The deadline for updating of programme choices is 31 May 2023 (11:59 pm).

Late submission / further updating will NOT be accepted.

Any fees paid will not be transferred to another year / other application.

Applicants are advised to update their programme choices earlier to avoid heavy internet traffic near the deadline.

As email is one of the channels that the JUPAS Office, the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions will use to communicate with applicants, applicants must ensure that the setting of their personal email accounts will not filter out or place such correspondence in the trash / junk bins.

^ Emails and SMS are delivered via third party network providers and therefore the JUPAS Office is not responsible for any delay, loss, transfer, amendment or damage arising from the transmission process via third party network providers.

Should there be any discrepancies between information contained in emails and SMS and applicants' JUPAS accounts, the information contained in the latter (i.e. the JUPAS accounts) is final.

Applicants are strongly advised to log on their JUPAS accounts to double-check the related information.

Since important messages and correspondence from the JUPAS Office, the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions will be sent via applicants' mobile phone numbers and / or mailing addresses, applicants SHOULD NEVER share their mobile phone numbers or mailing addresses with other applicants in order to protect any information related to their JUPAS applications.
