About JUPAS
Eligibility
Local applicants with JUPAS applications in the previous cycle(s) can apply via JUPAS again in the current cycle on the basis of their past and / or current HKDSE Examination results, provided that they are NOT enrolled in full-time bachelor's degree programmes offered under JUPAS at the time they submit their JUPAS applications.

NO. In accordance with the HKSAR Government's policy, ALL non-local applicants MUST apply for admission via the non-JUPAS route.

YES. Local applicants can apply via JUPAS even if they enter the HKDSE Examination as private candidates.
Applicants who are current secondary school students MUST apply via JUPAS as school applicants regardless of whether they may be sitting for the 2023 HKDSE Examination as private candidate.
Applicants CANNOT apply via JUPAS if they are currently enrolled in full-time bachelor's degree programmes offered under JUPAS nor if they are without any HKDSE Examination results.

ALL local applicants (school and non-school applicants) applying via JUPAS on the strength of their HKDSE Examination results are considered on the same basis by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.
Below are local applicants who CAN apply either via JUPAS or non-JUPAS, but not both, and local applicants who SHOULD apply via non-JUPAS:
Local applicants who can apply either via JUPAS or non-JUPAS, but not both
Local applicants with a combination of HKDSE Examination AND other academic results whose HKDSE Examination results ALONE will make them eligible for application for admission to the programmes offered under JUPAS can apply either via JUPAS or non-JUPAS, but NOT both. Assessment of these applicants applying via JUPAS will be based mainly on their HKDSE Examination results, while other factors will be considered as appropriate.
Applicants who choose to apply via JUPAS should ensure that they are ELIGIBLE to apply via JUPAS before submitting their JUPAS applications. Any fees paid will not be refunded or transferred to another year / other application.
Local applicants who should apply via non-JUPAS
Local applicants with a combination of HKDSE Examination AND other academic results which TOGETHER may make them eligible for application for admission to the programmes offered under JUPAS are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply via JUPAS. They should consult individual institutions concerned for further information.

Local applicants with past and / or current HKDSE Examination results who are currently enrolled in associate degree / higher diploma programmes can apply via JUPAS regardless of whether such programmes are offered under JUPAS.
If they wish to apply via JUPAS, they will be considered mainly on their HKDSE Examination results, while other factors will be considered as appropriate.
If they wish to apply for admission to the programmes offered under JUPAS on the strength of the results they obtained in their associate degree / higher diploma programmes, they should apply to the individual institutions directly. However, they CANNOT apply for admission to the programmes offered under JUPAS via both channels (i.e. JUPAS and non-JUPAS) in the same academic year. If they apply via JUPAS and to the individual institutions directly, their direct applications to the individual institutions will NOT be considered.
Applicants who are currently enrolled in full-time bachelor's degree programmes offered under JUPAS or who are without any HKDSE Examination results CANNOT apply via JUPAS.

NO. Local applicants who are currently enrolled in associate degree / higher diploma programmes offered under JUPAS NEED NOT withdraw from these programmes in order to apply via JUPAS.
If they wish to apply via JUPAS, they will be considered mainly on their HKDSE Examination results, while other factors will be considered as appropriate.
If they wish to apply for admission to the programmes offered under JUPAS on the strength of the results they obtained in their associate degree / higher diploma programmes, they should apply to the individual institutions directly. However, they CANNOT apply for admission to the programmes offered under JUPAS via both channels (i.e. JUPAS and non-JUPAS) in the same academic year. If they apply via JUPAS and to the individual institutions directly, their direct applications to the individual institutions will NOT be considered.
Applicants who are currently enrolled in full-time bachelor's degree programmes offered under JUPAS or who are without any HKDSE Examination results CANNOT apply via JUPAS.

NO. Local applicants with HKDSE Examination results only MUST apply via JUPAS.
Only those local applicants with a combination of HKDSE Examination AND other academic results whose HKDSE Examination results ALONE will make them eligible for application for admission to the programmes offered under JUPAS can apply either via JUPAS or non-JUPAS, but NOT both. Assessment of such applicants applying via JUPAS will be based mainly on their HKDSE Examination results, while other factors will be considered as appropriate.

Local applicants who are currently studying outside Hong Kong can apply via JUPAS provided that they have past and / or current HKDSE Examination results and that they are NOT enrolled in full-time bachelor's degree programmes offered under JUPAS at the time they submit their JUPAS applications.
Local applicants who apply via JUPAS will be considered mainly on their HKDSE Examination results, while other factors will be considered as appropriate.

NO. At the time local applicants submit their JUPAS applications, they MUST have already completed the withdrawal process from the institutions. The JUPAS Office will check the applicants' status with the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions and request such applicants to provide supporting documents to prove their withdrawal status when necessary. If such applicants cannot provide the supporting documents, or the JUPUS Office receives confirmation from the institutions that such applicants have not completed the withdrawal process, their JUPAS applications will be cancelled without further notice.
