About JUPAS
OEA
NO. The competitions and activities found in the "search results" do not have higher recognition than items that cannot be found in it. While the list is being continuously updated according to the aggregate entries inputted by the applicants from previous admission exercises, it is not possible to include all awards, activities and competitions.
The 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions will look at applicants' OEA for admission purposes. OEA, which are likely to be based on applicants' SLP, are summary highlights provided by individual applicants and will be considered actively during admission selection.
The 9 JUPAS participating-institutions' and the SSSDP institutions' selection criteria (such as HKDSE Examination results, OEA, performance in interviews and / or assessments, banding of programme choices, etc.) and determination of applicants' suitability for admission is entirely the decisions of the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions, and is independent of the JUPAS Office. In this regard, applicants should consult the general entrance requirements and individual programme requirements and the websites of the respective institutions for further information.
While there is no designated area in the JUPAS online application form for applicants to submit personal statements / self-accounts, each applicant can include them in the "Additional Information" section under his / her OEA portfolio to describe an interest and / or an experience that have been particularly meaningful to him / her or have affected his / her personal growth and life goals. Applicants can submit the "Additional Information" in either English or Chinese. The word limit is 500 words.
Please refer to the section on Other Experiences and Achievements in Competitions / Activities (OEA) for more details.
YES. Other OEA items can still be saved even if the required supporting documents are not yet uploaded.
However, applicants should note that the required supporting documents must be uploaded via their JUPAS accounts on or before the deadline of 2 January 2025 (11:59 pm), otherwise such awards / activities in their OEA portfolio will NOT be taken into consideration by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.
The JUPAS Office will randomly select and verify the uploaded supporting documents. Should there be any discrepancies between the information entered by the applicants and the information stated in the supporting documents uploaded in their JUPAS accounts, the latter (i.e. information stated in the supporting documents) shall prevail. The JUPAS Office may amend the OEA information according to the information stated in the supporting documents in the JUPAS online application system without further notice. Applicants can log in to their JUPAS accounts to check the amended information, if any, from 11 March 2025 (9:00 am).
Applicants whose OEA items are not randomly selected by the JUPAS online application system (i.e. highlighted in pink) NEED NOT submit any supporting documents.
Please refer to the section on Other Experiences and Achievements in Competitions / Activities (OEA) for more details.
