Other Academic Results (Language Subjects)

1 How can the applicants be certain that the copies of supporting documents of their other academic results (language subjects) have been received by the JUPAS Office? 

Applicants who have submitted supporting documents to the JUPAS Office for verification will first receive an auto-reply of JUPAS Office#^.  The acknowledgement / follow-up emails#^ will be sent to the applicants upon processing the verification in 2 working days.  They can then log in to their JUPAS accounts to check the verification status after receiving the acknowledgement emails#^.

School applicants who have presented their certificates to their schools for verification via the JUPAS online application system need not submit supporting documents to the JUPAS Office again.  They can log in to their JUPAS accounts to check the verification status once the qualifications have been verified by their schools.

2 Will the other academic results (language subjects) without verification be deleted after the deadline of 30 April 2025?  How will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions consider these other academic results (language subjects)?

NO.  The other academic results (language subjects) without verification will not be deleted after the deadline of 30 April 2025 (11:59 pm).

However, qualifications not verified by schools (for school applicants) or the JUPAS Office on or before the deadline of 30 April 2025 (11:59 pm) will NOT be taken into consideration by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.

3 Some applicants might have HKALE and / or HKCEE results.  Will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions take their HKALE and / or HKCEE results into consideration when assessing their JUPAS applications?

Applicants applying via JUPAS will be considered mainly based on the strength of their HKDSE Examination results, while other aspects will be considered as appropriate.

Applicants with past HKALE and / or HKCEE results on language subjects can enter such results in the section of "Other Academic Results (Language Subjects)" in their JUPAS accounts on or before the deadline of 23 April 2025 (11:59 pm).  Supporting documents of other academic results (language subjects) entered by applicants must be submitted on or before the deadline of 30 April 2025 (11:59 pm).

Applicants' other academic results (language subjects) are collected for reference only by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions, and it will be entirely up to these institutions to decide whether and how the qualifications will be taken into consideration for admission purposes.

4 Do applicants need to submit copies of supporting documents of other academic results (language subjects) to the JUPAS Office if they have been verified by their schools via the JUPAS online application system?

NO.  School applicants who have presented their certificates to their schools for verification via the JUPAS online application system need not submit supporting documents to the JUPAS Office again.  They can log in to their JUPAS accounts to check the verification status.

However, qualifications not verified by schools (for school applicants) or the JUPAS Office on or before the deadline of 30 April 2025 (11:59 pm) will NOT be taken into consideration by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.

5 Can applicants enter qualifications other than those listed in the List of Other Academic Results (Language Subjects)?

NO.  Applicants can only enter other academic results (language subjects) listed in the List of Other Academic Results (Language Subjects).

In the consideration of other academic results (language subjects), the following will NOT be accepted:

  1. "equivalent" qualifications;

  2. qualifications not shown on the List of Other Academic Results (Language Subjects);

  3. screenshots showing results from webpages / emails; and

  4. provisional results / statement of results.

6 Can applicants enter HKDSE Examination Category C: Other Languages Subjects results as other academic results (language subjects)? 

NO.  ALL past and / or current HKDSE Examination results (including Category C: Other Languages Subjects, which are submitted to the HKEAA for recording on the HKDSE Examination certificates) of the applicants will be obtained from the HKEAA by the JUPAS Office.  In this regard, applicants are NOT required to enter their Category C: Other Languages Subjects results in their JUPAS accounts.

7 If applicants have IELTS results which are no longer valid, can they enter these IELTS results?  How will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions consider these IELTS results?

Applicants can choose to input these expired IELTS results if they wish to do so. 

Applicants' other academic results (language subjects) are collected for reference only by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions, and it will be entirely up to these institutions to decide whether and how the qualifications will be taken into consideration for admission purposes.

8 Will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions consider IELTS, SAT and / or TOEFL results as a substitution of HKDSE Examination results in English language?

Applicants' other academic results (language subjects) are collected for reference only by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions, and it will be entirely up to these institutions to decide whether and how the qualifications will be taken into consideration for admission purposes.

9 If applicants have undergone name changes but the names shown on the certificates are not updated, what should they do?

Applicants must inform the JUPAS Office immediately and submit copies of Deed Poll and / or identity documents containing the previous names for its necessary actions.

As email is one of the channels that the JUPAS Office, the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions will use to contact applicants, applicants must ensure that the setting of their personal email accounts will not filter out or place such correspondence in the trash / junk / spam folders.

^ Emails and SMS are delivered via third party network providers and therefore the JUPAS Office is not responsible for any delay, loss, transfer, amendment or damage arising from the transmission process via third party network providers.

Should there be any discrepancies between information contained in emails and SMS and applicants' JUPAS accounts, the information contained in the latter (i.e. the JUPAS accounts) shall prevail.

Applicants are strongly advised to log in to their JUPAS accounts to double-check the related information.
