Short Description
This programme is a five-year full-time undergraduate programme for students who aspire to pursue a career in Early Childhood Education field. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, it aims to nurture students to be professional, creative and ethical early childhood educators in future. This programme will not only equip students with solid disciplinary knowledge on child development and pedagogical skills to foster the holistic development of children, but will also with the necessary knowledge and skills to work with parents, families and communities to foster children’s development, parent-teacher relationships and school effectiveness, as well as the competence and sensitivity to identify characteristics of children with diverse needs for early intervention, and to plan and implement a responsive curriculum to facilitate the physical and psychological development of children with various learning, emotional and behavioral needs.

Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination
Most programmes offered by CUHK consider the best results in the same subject taken by a candidate in more than one sitting of HKDSE. Some programmes may have specific arrangements and the admission scores of candidates seeking admission on the strength of results from more than one sitting of HKDSE may be adjusted. Details of calculation of scores in more than one sitting of HKDSE for the 2025-26 entry will be finalised and posted at the admissions website (admission.cuhk.edu.hk).
