Short Description
The Global Engineering and Business Programme is a BEng/BEng(BME) and BBA double degree programme jointly offered by the Faculty of Engineering and the HKU Business School. The programme features are as follows:
- This is an inter-disciplinary programme in which students will acquire professional knowledge in both Engineering and Business in a global perspective.
- Students will undertake the first four years of study focusing in BEng or BEng(BME) curriculum, with a number of courses in Business. On successful completion of the degree of BEng or BEng(BME) with a Second Class Honours and the prescribed Business courses, students may proceed to the fifth year of study leading to the degree of BBA, in one of the following majors:
- Major in Entrepreneurship, Design and Innovation (EDI) (Note: Candidates must undergo a selection process arranged by the Programme Coordinator for declaring the EDI major.)
- Major in Finance
- Major in Human Resource Management
- Major in Information Systems and Analytics (Note: Major in ISA is not open to candidates of BEng in Computer Science)
- Major in Marketing
- The fifth year is offered on self-financing basis*.
* The fifth year of this double-degree programme is offered on self-financing basis, which means that the tuition fee for this year will be higher than the standard fee applicable to the Government-funded programmes. The exact amount will be announced at a later stage. Students enrolled in the fifth year may apply for financial assistance under the Government Non-means Tested Loan Scheme, subject to the prevailing regulations of the Scheme.

Level 3 or above in Mathematics (Extended Module 1 or Module 2) is preferred (but not required).
The calculation of programme score considers category A subjects and may include Mathematics Extended Module 1 or 2 and category C subject. Please refer to hku.hk/dse for details.
The result(s) of Liberal Studies, Combined Science and Integrated Science achieved in previous sitting(s) will also be considered.

Remark:
- "Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education” is referred to as “HKDSE”.
- "Attained with Distinction" obtained prior to 2018, or "Attained with Distinction (I)" or "Attained with Distinction (II)" obtained in or after 2018, in Applied Learning subjects (other than Applied Learning Chinese) will be used as additional supporting information. In the meantime, student learning experiences in Applied Learning subjects may be considered within the context of other learning experiences in their application.

Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination
In general, most of the programmes offered by HKU consider the best results achieved by candidates in different combination of sittings, except for a few programmes which only consider the latest results. Few programmes may also impose a penalty on HKDSE repeaters. Please refer to https://www.hku.hk/dse for details.

The year(s) of study beyond the four-year curriculum are offered on a 'self-financing' basis, which means:
- that students studying for these further qualifications will be required to pay composition fees higher than the normal fee; and
- that while these students will be eligible for financial assistance under the Government Financial Assistance Scheme and Non-means-tested Loan Scheme, they will not be eligible for other Government loans and grants.
