Short Description
Overview
The Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP) is designed to provide a world-class interdisciplinary education that emphasizes technological innovation and managerial leadership with an inclination towards a global perspective. T&M-DDP, the first of its kind in Hong Kong, offers high-caliber students an inspiring opportunity to gain two internationally-recognized degrees in five years: Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc), and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
Dual Degree students learn how to analyze issues from technological and business viewpoints and solve both quantitative and qualitative problems. Students also develop awareness of different cultures and global perspectives and foster a willingness to serve. With double degrees in technology and management, our graduates have a wide variety of career advancement opportunities.
Curriculum
As a fully-integrated program, T&M-DDP students study engineering/science and business courses every year. In addition to the major disciplines, students are also exposed to courses in mathematics, entrepreneurship, social science and humanities, and business communications in English and Chinese to sharpen their analytical skills and critical thinking and broaden their perspectives. The program is challenging but delivers outstanding opportunities for students to acquire broad and deep knowledge in technology and management.

Enrichment Activities & Signature Courses
A variety of enrichment activities help students consolidate multi-dimensional problem solving skills, communications skills, and global understanding through real-life practices. Examples include exchange programs, internships, executive forum, and leadership training. The following are some key enrichment activities and signature courses offered to T&M-DDP students.
- T&M International Business Plan Competition (TEMG4970)
A popular international event, co-organized with overseas partner institutions in different continents. Past partners include the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Bayreuth and University of Sao Paulo. Participants work in multinational teams to develop creative applications and viable business plans for an emerging technology.
- T&M Corporate Consulting Projects (TEMG4950)
Students seek novel ways to create value and solve real-life technology & management problems faced by our corporate sponsors. Past corporate sponsors include Arup, Bayer, Google, HARMAN, IBM, and Li & Fung, among others.
- T&M Prototyping and Research Projects (TEMG4940)
Students can gain deep insight into an industry domain by working with corporate-sponsors to understand a new trend in the industry, appreciate the business challenges behind the problem, and develop a working prototype incorporating innovative business strategies and advanced software tools.
- T&M Case Analysis and Product Innovation (TEMG3950)
The course consists of two parts. Part 1 "Case Analysis" is for students to develop structured problem-solving skills using MECE frameworks and communicate solution using 5-Step Persuasive Selling in essay and presentation format. Part 2 "Product Innovation" is for students to develop critical thinking skills using techniques such as Design Thinking, Value Proposition Design, and Business Model Canvas.
- T&M Professional Activities (TEMG1010)
T&M-DDP offers a series of Technology & Management Professional Training among the 5 years which aims to build presentation and communication skills, cross-cultural understanding, and confidence. We have customized professional activities for every class to match student needs at different stages.
Career Prospect
Dynamic and forward-looking, T&M-DDP graduates can handle technological issues and understand business management. Our graduates work in diverse industries: Banking and Finance (24%), Engineering (23%), Further Studies (16%), Consultancy (14%), Business Management (11%), Information Technology (10%) and Startups (2%). (as of 2021)
Remarks:
Interview is compulsory for admissions. Selected Band A applicants will be invited to attend an interview in May or July 2023.

Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination
Once the minimum entrance requirements have been met, the best results achieved in all sittings will be used for calculating admissions scores.
First Year Tuition Fee
HK$ 42,100
In 2021/22, for local students admitted to the BEng/BSc & BBA Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management, the tuition for their 5th year (i.e. 9th and 10th regular terms) of study is HK$30,000 per term.
