Overview

In today’s knowledge society, a thorough understanding of technology and management skills opens the way to success. The first of its kind in Hong Kong, the elite Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP) offers high-flying students the exciting opportunity to gain two internationally recognized degrees in five years: a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or a Bachelor of Science (BSc), and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). Going beyond traditional boundaries and answering the need for innovative vision in the workplace, T&M-DDP students are trained to analyze issues from technological and business viewpoints and accumulate wide-ranging experience of how the world works, gaining much more than two degrees.

Curriculum

As a fully integrated program, T&M-DDP students study both engineering/science and business courses each year. In addition to major disciplines, there are courses in mathematics, entrepreneurship, social science and humanities, English and Chinese business communication, and others to sharpen analytical skills, multiple perspectives, and critical thinking. The program is challenging but delivers outstanding opportunities for acquiring both broad and deep knowledge.

Enrichment Activities

A variety of enrichment activities help students to consolidate multi-dimensional problem solving skills, communication skill and global understanding through real-life practices. Examples include exchange program, internship, executive forum, and leadership training. The followings are key enrichment activities offered to T&M-DDP students.

  • T&M International Business Plan Competition
    A popular international event, co-organized by the T&M-DDP Program and Hoeft Technology and Management Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Participants from each university work in teams to develop applications and viable business plans for an emerging technology. It also creates the platform to build cross-cultural relationships.
     
  • Corporate Projects
    Students work together to find innovative ways to create value and solve real-life business problems. Example of previous corporate sponsors: IBM, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong Jockey Club, HARMAN, Akamai Technologies HK Ltd.

Career Prospects

Dynamic and forward-looking, T&M-DDP graduates are trained to handle technological issues and to understand business management. Our graduates work in different industries: Banking and Finance (27%), Engineering and Business Management (18% each), Technician and Consultant (14% each) and Further studies (9%).

Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination

Once the minimum entrance requirements have been met, the best results achieved in all sittings will be used for calculating admissions scores.

First Year Tuition Fee

HK$ 42,100

The final year of the BEng/BSc & BBA Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management is offered on a self-financing basis. For reference, the tuition is HK$60,000 per year in 2017/18.
