BA (Hons) Translation

Short Description

The Translation Programme offers a bilingual and cross-cultural education which equips graduates with bilingual competence in English and Chinese, as well as cultivates their knowledge and understanding of different cultures. Equal emphasis is placed on translation as a profession and an academic discipline, as reflected in a variety of practical courses on translation, interpreting and language studies, along with academic courses on translation studies. Considerable importance is attached to the socio-cultural environment of the English and Chinese languages respectively, which is explored in a number of courses on literature and cultural studies.
