Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors

Programme Information

Eligible SSSDP programmes must meet the following requirements:

  1. the programmes must be full-time locally accredited self-financing undergraduate programmes;

  2. the programmes are included in a list of designated programmes nominated by relevant bureaux for the purpose of nurturing necessary talent in support of specific industries with urgent or keen demand for human resources; and

  3. the actual annual tuition fees payable by applicants should include downward adjustment to reflect the subsidy under SSSDP.


Institutions in SSSDP for the 2027 – 2028 academic year include the following:

  1. Hong Kong Chu Hai College (HKCHC);

  2. Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU);

  3. Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU);

  4. Saint Francis University (SFU);

  5. Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong, Vocational Training Council (VTC-THEi);

  6. The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK);

  7. Tung Wah College (TWC); and

  8. UOW College Hong Kong (UOWCHK).

SSSDP Applied Degree Programmes

Applicants for certain SSSDP Applied Degree Programmes may be required to submit supporting documents directly to the respective SSSDP institutions as part of their admission requirements.  Such arrangements are confined to the following programmes: JSSA01, JSSA06, JSST06, JSST07, JSSU14, JSSU18, JSSU40, JSSU50, JSSU55, JSSU61, JSSU66, JSSU67, JSSU69, JSSU79, JSSU90, JSSU93, JSSU95, JSSV07, JSSV10 and JSSV14.

The supporting document requirements, submission arrangements and admission considerations for these programmes are determined by the respective SSSDP institutions. Applicants should refer to the relevant programme pages and contact the respective institutions directly for details.
