OEA
NO. The competitions and activities found in the "search results" do not have higher recognition than those that cannot be found in it. While the list is being continuously updated according to the aggregate entries inputted by the applicants from previous admission exercises, it is not possible to include all awards, activities and competitions.
The 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions will consider applicants' OEA as reference for admission purposes. OEA are summary highlights provided by individual applicants and will be considered actively during admission selection.
The 9 JUPAS participating-institutions' and the SSSDP institutions' selection criteria (such as HKDSE Examination results, OEA, performance in interviews and / or assessments, banding of programme choices) and determination of applicants' suitability for admission is solely the decisions of the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions, and is independent of the JUPAS Office. Applicants should consult the general entrance requirements and individual programme requirements and the websites of the respective institutions for further information.
While there is no designated area in the JUPAS online application form for applicants to submit personal statements / self-accounts, applicants can include them in the "Additional Information" section under the OEA portfolio to describe an interest or experience that has been particularly meaningful to them or has influenced their personal growth and life goals. Applicants may submit the "Additional Information" in either English or Chinese. The word limit is 500 words.
