Other Academic Results (Language Subjects)

1 How can the applicants be certain that the copies of supporting documents of their other academic results (language subjects) have been received by the JUPAS Office? 

Applicants who have submitted supporting documents to the JUPAS Office for verification will first receive an automatic acknowledgement email#^ from the JUPAS Office.  A follow-up / confirmation email#^ will be sent in 2 working days.  Applicants may then log in to their JUPAS accounts to check the verification status.

School applicants, who have presented their certificates to their schools for verification, can log in to their JUPAS accounts to check the verification status once the qualifications have been verified by their schools.  No further submission to the JUPAS Office is required.

2 Will the other academic results (language subjects) without verification be deleted after the deadline of 29 April 2026?  How will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions consider these other academic results (language subjects)?

NO.  The other academic results (language subjects) without verification will not be deleted after the deadline of 29 April 2026 (5:00 pm).

However, qualifications without verification by the deadline of 29 April 2026 (5:00 pm) will NOT be considered by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.

3 Some applicants might have HKALE and / or HKCEE results.  Will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions take their HKALE and / or HKCEE results into consideration when assessing their JUPAS applications?

Applicants applying via JUPAS will be considered mainly on the strength of their HKDSE Examination results, while other aspects will be considered as appropriate.

Applicants with past HKALE and / or HKCEE results on language subjects can enter such results in the section of "Other Academic Results (Language Subjects)" in their JUPAS accounts by the deadline of 22 April 2026 (5:00 pm).  Supporting documents of other academic results (language subjects) entered by applicants must be submitted by the deadline of 29 April 2026 (5:00 pm).

Other academic results (language subjects) submitted by applicants are collected for reference only by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.  It is entirely the discretion of each institution to determine whether, and how, such qualifications will be considered during the admission process.

4 Do applicants need to submit copies of supporting documents of other academic results (language subjects) to the JUPAS Office if they have been verified by their schools via the JUPAS online application system?

NO.  No further submission to the JUPAS Office is required if school applicants have presented their certificates to their schools for verification.  They can log in to their JUPAS accounts to check the verification status.

However, qualifications without verification by the deadline of 29 April 2026 (5:00 pm) will NOT be considered by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.

5 Can applicants enter qualifications other than those listed in the List of Other Academic Results (Language Subjects)?

NO.  Applicants can only enter other academic results (language subjects) listed in the List of Other Academic Results (Language Subjects).

The following items will NOT be accepted for the verification of other academic results (language subjects):

  1. "equivalent" qualifications;

  2. qualifications not listed in the List of Other Academic Results (Language Subjects);

  3. screenshots showing results from webpages / emails; and

  4. provisional results / statement of results.

6 Can applicants enter HKDSE Examination Category C: Other Languages Subjects results as other academic results (language subjects)? 

NO.  ALL past and / or current HKDSE Examination results (including Category C: Other Languages Subjects recorded by the HKEAA) will be obtained directly from the HKEAA by the JUPAS Office.  Applicants are NOT required to enter these results in their JUPAS accounts.

7 If applicants have IELTS results which are no longer valid, can they enter these IELTS results?  How will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions consider these IELTS results?

Applicants can choose to input these expired IELTS results if they wish to do so. 

Other academic results (language subjects) submitted by applicants are collected for reference only by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.  It is entirely the discretion of each institution to determine whether, and how, such qualifications will be considered during the application process.

8 Will the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions consider IELTS, SAT and / or TOEFL results as a substitution of HKDSE Examination results in English language?

Other academic results (language subjects) submitted by applicants are collected for reference only by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.  It is entirely the discretion of each institution to determine whether, and how, such qualifications will be considered during the application process.

9 If applicants have undergone name changes but the names shown on the certificates are not updated, what should they do?

Applicants must inform the JUPAS Office immediately and submit copies of Deed Poll and / or identity documents containing the previous names for its necessary actions.

As email is one of the channels that the JUPAS Office, the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions will use to contact applicants, applicants must ensure that the setting of their personal email accounts will not filter out or place such correspondence in the trash / junk / spam folders.

^ Emails and SMS are delivered via third party network providers and therefore the JUPAS Office is not responsible for any delay, loss, transfer, amendment or damage arising from the transmission process via third party network providers.

Should there be any discrepancies between information contained in emails and SMS and applicants' JUPAS accounts, the information contained in the latter (i.e. the JUPAS accounts) shall prevail.

Applicants are strongly advised to log in to their JUPAS accounts to double-check the related information.
