BSocSc (Hons) SPPS

Short Description

The BSocSc (Honours) – Social and Public Policy Studies programme is jointly hosted by the Department of Economics and Department of Sociology and Social Policy of Lingnan University. The programme provides inter-disciplinary perspectives that will enhance students’ ability to analyse social and public policy issues, such as ageing, gender, the family, social inequality, social change, global and local health, education, public finance, housing, labour market, science, and technology. Student will learn to assess the impacts of government policy as well as demographic, technological, and social changes on businesses and the daily lives of people. On that basis, students can contribute to policy debate intelligently.

The programme provides many experiential learning opportunities to students, such as field trips, internships and courses with service-learning. These components offer chances for students to participate in placements with selected social welfare agencies and NGOs.
