Short Description

Bachelor of Social Sciences in Public Policy and Bachelor of Laws will provide students with a comprehensive education in the theories, concepts, and knowledge bases of public policy, public management, and political science as well as a liberal education in the theory and practice of law at an undergraduate degree level. It enables students to specialize in public policy, public management, or political science and at the same time acquire a critical understanding of law and legal institutions of Hong Kong and beyond. The double degree will facilitate the development of intellectual skills, like analytic and creative thinking, problem solving and effective communication both orally and in writing.

  • Besides Category A elective subjects, Mathematics extended modules (M1/M2) and Category C other language subject (at grade E or above) can also be used to meet the elective requirement. If students take both M1 and M2, they are counted as one subject only.
  • Applied Learning (ApL) subjects are not counted as elective subjects.

If students take both M1 and M2, they are counted as one subject only.
  • Applied Learning (ApL) subjects are not counted as elective subjects, except for JS1041, JS1042, JS1043, JS1044, JS1805JS1806 and JS1807.

  • Flexible Admission Arrangement: JUPAS applicants who marginally fail to meet the requirement for programme admission in one core subject may still have the opportunity to gain admission if they have good HKDSE results. For details, click here.

Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination

CityU accepts repeat results and will use the best results in assessing whether applicants fulfil the entrance requirements and to calculate admission scores.

The 5th year of the double degree programme will be charged on a self-financing basis.
