BBA in Operations Management 工商管理學士(營運管理學)

OM

Short Description

The BBA Operations Management (OM) program focuses on the effective management of resources and business processes that produce and deliver the goods and services for all kinds of organizations. Our program emphasizes real business applications of management concepts and quantitative analysis to the design, planning, control, and improvement of business operations.

OM students acquire fundamental knowledge across business disciplines at the beginning of their studies to prepare themselves to pursue advanced management concepts as well as the techniques that are essential in managing and making sound decisions in complex business processes and supply chain operations. Two options: Business Analytics and Supply Chain Management, are available for those who would like to study the subject matter in depth or to better prepare themselves for a related career.

The BBA OM program recognizes the importance of application-based learning. Business case studies and company projects are often incorporated in our courses which require students to bridge the concepts with real business practices. Our Department has an extensive connection to initiate projects with corporates. OM students benefit from the connection that they will have access to real business data and people in an organization to conduct analysis and make recommendations.

The training of technical competence, analytical ability, communication skills, and leadership skills prepares our students to thrive in the rapidly-growing OM employment sector. OM specialists typically begin their careers in areas such as quality management, planning and control, project management and logistics.

Extended Major

OM students may apply for the extended major in Artificial Intelligence or Digital Media and Creative Arts at the end of the 3rd term of study, if they satisfy the extended major requirement. Students completing the extended major will graduate with a title bearing both the traditional major subject they selected and the extended major. For details, please refer to "JS5300 Business & Management".

Remarks:

The Year 1 curricula of JS5317 OM and JS5300 B&M are identical. JS5317 allows students who have a special interest in BBA OM to directly enter the major. Those admitted to JS5300 may apply to enter OM or other business majors via the major selection exercises held at the end of the first three terms. Students interested in OM should include either or both JS5317 and JS5300 in their program choices. Please click here for details of JS5300 Business and Management.
