Short Description

The Programme aims to equip students with a solid foundation in knowledge and skills for performing professional roles and tasks in horticulture, arboriculture and landscape management. Also, it will develop students with integrative abilities and use of proper approaches and research methodologies in problem-solving and solution design in horticulture, arboriculture and landscape management, as well as develop students with strong respect and consideration for environmental, ecological, social, cultural and ethical aspects, while working in accordance with professional practices and regulations for achieving tasks of professional quality and work safety. Students will also be strengthened with transferrable and communication skills for effective independent and teamwork competence, as well as leadership in horticultural and arboricultural project management. Students will be prepared for academic progression or career development and pursuit of lifelong learning.

Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination

The best result from a combination of all HKDSE subjects will be considered and there is no penalty or marks deducted for repeated sittings.

  • The applicant has learnt Chinese Language for less than 6 years (including those who have never learned it) while receiving primary and secondary school education ; OR
  • The applicant has learnt Chinese Language for 6 years or more in schools, but has been taught an adapted and simpler curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in local schools.

First Year Tuition Fee

HK$ 104,775

Tuition fees are charged according to the number of credit points taken in a semester. Tuition fees for 2023/24 cohort are as below for reference:

Notes:

  1. The tuition fees shown above are at the fee level of 2023/24. The fees for the subsequent years after 2023/24 shall be subject to annual adjustments capped at the movement of the Composite Consumer Price Index (CCPI) announced by the Government.
  2. The annual tuition fees, shown in the above, are calculated based on the average credit points per year multiplied by the per-credit fee and are shown for reference only.  The minimum credit requirement for graduation is 132 credit points.  The actual annual tuition fees payable by individual students may vary from the amounts shown.
  3. The unit subsidy for this programme is $44,950 per annum in 2023/24 cohort. The subsidy is tenable for the normal duration of the programme, i.e. for a period of 4 years.
  4. Only local students are eligible to be subsidised under SSSDP.
