1. JS6133: Bachelor of Arts Elite Programme

The Faculty of Arts of HKU is introducing a new degree programme, the JS6133 Bachelor of Arts Elite Programme in the 2027 Admissions Exercise.

The HKU Bachelor of Arts Elite Programme offers a distinctive pathway tailored for high-achieving students seeking an integrated undergraduate and postgraduate education with a solid foundation in the humanities.  For a select cohort of outstanding students, the Elite Programme combines rigorous humanities education at HKU, Asia's leading university, with seamless progression to advanced interdisciplinary training at prestigious global institutions, like Geneva Graduate Institute and Yenching Academy of Peking University.  The programme features a broad and diverse interdisciplinary curriculum, covering areas such as digital humanities, cultural industries, and international relations.  It emphasises the development of critical thinking, analytical skills, and a global perspective, equipping graduates with a distinctive competitive edge to assume leadership roles across intergovernmental organisations, public institutions, private enterprises, non-profit organisations, and other sectors.

2. JS6365: Bachelor of Engineering in Robotics Engineering

Robotics has evolved into a distinct engineering discipline, moving beyond fragmented efforts across separate fields to require highly integrated expertise for developing intelligent systems that can meet future challenges.  The Faculty of Engineering of HKU is introducing a new four-year interdisciplinary programme, the Bachelor of Engineering in Robotics Engineering (BEng(Robo)), jointly offered by the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Data and Systems Engineering, and Civil Engineering, designed to nurture robotics engineers with holistic, systems-level thinking and strong cross-disciplinary capability.

It brings together the strengths of four departments and is underpinned by a distinctive Hong Kong–Shanghai two-city study roadmap with a dedicated HK$50,000 studentship for Shanghai study, an experiential learning pedagogy, and tailored dual postgraduate support for academically outstanding students, including a research matching scheme and a HK$100,000 entrance scholarship for taught postgraduate studies, thereby creating a comprehensive and forward-looking education model that nurtures a new generation of innovative robotics engineers.

Graduates will be well prepared to pursue careers and drive technological innovation across a wide spectrum of sectors, including robotics, intelligent manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, autonomous vehicles, drones, and other emerging technology fields.  They will also be well positioned for further postgraduate studies in robotics, artificial intelligence, and related disciplines.
