JUPAS Website Wins the IMA Best in Class Award

The JUPAS website has received the IMA (Interactive Media Awards) 'Best in Class' award among 176 entries in the 'Education' category in the 2016 award year.

The Interactive Media Awards™ recognise the highest standards of excellence in website design and development and honour individuals and organisations for their outstanding achievement.

The Best in Class Award (480 – 500 points) is the highest honour bestowed by the Interactive Media Council.  It is given to outstanding websites through a series of evaluation by distinguished professionals and experts in web-related business.  The winning website represents the highest standards of professionalism, standards compliance and impeccable planning and execution and attests that it has excelled in all areas of the judging criteria to achieve a perfect, or near perfect, overall score.

Scoring 494 out of a total of 500, the JUPAS website obtained full marks for both 'Content' and 'Feature Functionality', and nearly full marks for 'Design', 'Usability' and 'Standards Compliance'.

This is however not the first time that the JUPAS website has won an award for its service to stakeholders.

Apart from the IMA 'Best in Class' award, the JUPAS website has also won the 'Gold Award' in the 2016 Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme (Scheme) co-organised by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) and the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC).  The Scheme was set up to recognise and award the websites of commercial and non-commercial organisations which offer such features as equality of access and ease of use.

The award-winning JUPAS website, which fulfilled 24 judging criteria required by the Gold Category, was launched in September 2015, and offers such features as a user-friendly design, compatibility with Screen Readers, cross-browser compatibility, basic and key web accessibility features, and a customised programme-search engine.  The website is monitored and reviewed regularly and will be regularly improved according to the evolving needs of JUPAS’s stakeholders.
