Programme Highlights
Flexible, Interdisciplinary BA Foundation: Students can tailor their studies through a broad selection of arts and humanities majors and minors, including Art History, Chinese History and Culture, Chinese Language and Literature, Comparative Literature, English Studies, Gender Studies, Linguistics, Global and Area Studies, History, Hong Kong Studies, Japanese Studies, Korean Studies, Music, Philosophy, and Translation.
BA + Global MA Pathways: Eligible students may progress to a Master’s degree at leading international institutions through Faculty partnerships, including:
- Geneva Graduate Institute offering programmes in International History and Politics, Anthropology and Sociology, International Economics, International Law, International Relations/Political Science, and International and Development Studies. (https://www.graduateinstitute.ch)

Tailormade Academic Mentorship and Professional Guidance: Students benefit from specialised advising, personalised mentorship, alumni networking, and internship opportunities that support academic planning, overseas experiences, and career development.
Entrance Scholarship and Global Experience Support: Outstanding HKDSE students may receive entrance scholarships covering up to four years of tuition. The Faculty Global Exploration Fund also provides eligible students with subsidies of up to HK$36,000 for approved overseas exchanges, internships, field trips, and other experiential learning activities.

The calculation of programme score considers category A subjects and may include Mathematics Extended Module 1 or 2 or category C subject whichever is higher. Please refer to hku.hk/dse for details.
Candidates with non-single-current sitting and candidates who have obtained level 3 in HKDSE English Language may be interviewed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Remark:
- "Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education” is referred to as “HKDSE”.
- "Attained with Distinction" obtained prior to 2018, or "Attained with Distinction (I)" or "Attained with Distinction (II)" obtained in or after 2018, in Applied Learning subjects (other than Applied Learning Chinese) will be used as additional supporting information. In the meantime, student learning experiences in Applied Learning subjects may be considered within the context of other learning experiences in their application.
- Level 2 in Liberal Studies achieved in previous sitting will be considered in lieu of Citizenship and Social Development.

- The result(s) of Combined Science and Integrated Science achieved in previous sitting(s) will also be considered.
Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination
In general, most of the programmes offered by HKU consider the best results achieved by candidates in different combination of sittings, except for a few programmes which only consider the latest results.
