Short Description
The Bachelor of Arts in Global Creative Industries programme provides an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the intricate relationship between commerce and culture. Through theoretical instruction and experiential learning, it explores the fusion of cultural, economic, social, and political forces that drive the convergence of creativity and commerce on an industry-wide scale. With a global perspective, the programme inspires students to critically analyse the evolving roles of culture in today’s society, where commerce and culture are increasingly intersected. This approach provides a platform to explore the interconnected nature of contemporary global creative sectors, transcending traditional boundaries and offering a holistic view of creative industry emergence, development, and future prospects on a global, regional, national, and local scale.
The programme presents four concentrations: (1) Film, XR and Interactive Media, (2) Games, Play and Digital Cultures, (3) Heritage, Memory and Cultural Industries, and (4) Performance and Live Arts. Each student selects a concentration among the above list, fostering expertise in their chosen field while comprehending the interconnected nature of the creative industries. Through supervised internships, industry experiences, field trips, and capstone projects, the curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical applications. The programme aims to cultivate profound understanding and practical skills, empowering students for success across various fields and preparing them to navigate the dynamic landscape of the creative industries and beyond.
The programme prepares students for diverse roles across industries, encompassing marketing, advertising, social media management, curation, customer relations, etc., in cultural sectors such as film, design, fashion, tourism, and heritage.

- "Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education” is referred to as “HKDSE”.
- "Attained with Distinction" obtained prior to 2018, or "Attained with Distinction (I)" or "Attained with Distinction (II)" obtained in or after 2018, in Applied Learning subjects (other than Applied Learning Chinese) will be used as additional supporting information. In the meantime, student learning experiences in Applied Learning subjects may be considered within the context of other learning experiences in their application.
- Level 2 in Liberal Studies achieved in previous sitting will be considered in lieu of Citizenship and Social Development.

Calculation of scores for applicants with more than 1 sitting in HKDSE Examination
In general, most of the programmes offered by HKU consider the best results achieved by candidates in different combination of sittings, except for a few programmes which only consider the latest results.
